Terms of use

Last updated · May 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Zose platform, the Zose Web Agent, and the Zose mobile application. Please read them carefully — by using Zose you agree to be bound by them.

01

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Zose. By accessing or using the Zose platform, the Zose Web Agent, the Zose mobile application, or any related service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

02

About the service

Zose operates a Shared Agency Banking service that allows partner financial institutions (banks, microfinances, and SACCOs) to extend their reach through a single network of authorised agents. As a user, you can deposit, withdraw, and pay school fees through any Zose agent on behalf of your account-holding institution.

03

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction), legally capable of entering into a binding contract, and not subject to any sanction, embargo, or restriction that would prevent you from using a regulated financial service in Rwanda. Agents and merchants must additionally satisfy the onboarding criteria set by Zose and the relevant partner institution.

04

Account registration and security

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide during onboarding and for keeping it current. You must keep your credentials (PIN, password, OTP codes, and any biometric factors) confidential and not share them with any other person, including Zose staff or agents.

You must notify us immediately at info@zose.rw if you suspect that your credentials or account have been compromised. You are responsible for activity on your account until you have notified us.

05

Acceptable use

You agree to use Zose only for lawful purposes and in a way that:

  • Complies with all applicable laws and regulations of Rwanda.
  • Does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit any other user.
  • Does not transmit malicious code, attempt to access systems without authorisation, or interfere with the integrity of the platform.
06

Prohibited activities

You must not, in connection with the service:

  • Engage in money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, or any other financial crime.
  • Use a third party’s identity, documents, or payment instruments without authorisation.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of any Zose software.
  • Use automated means (robots, scrapers) to access the service without our prior written consent.
  • Misrepresent yourself, your agent status, or any partner institution.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably suspect a violation of these Terms or of applicable law.

07

Fees and tariffs

Fees for deposits, withdrawals, transfers, bill payments, and school fees are published on our Tariffs page and may be updated from time to time. The applicable fee for a transaction is the one in effect at the time the transaction is initiated and is displayed to you before you confirm the transaction.

08

Intellectual property

The Zose name, logo, software, designs, content, and any related materials are owned by Zose or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service strictly in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

09

Third-party services and content

The service may link to or rely on services provided by third parties (for example, payment processors, identity verification providers, and partner institutions). We are not responsible for the content, availability, accuracy, or practices of those third parties; your dealings with them are governed by their own terms.

10

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.

11

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Rwandan law, Zose, its officers, employees, agents, and partner institutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages will not exceed the fees you paid to Zose in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12

Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service will be submitted first to good-faith negotiation between the parties and, if not resolved within thirty (30) days, to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kigali.

13

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be effective on the date indicated next to “Last updated” at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
